Possible bent valve stems

Hi Mike,
It's possible one or both valve stems might have been bent.
If you have the head off, checking this is easy. Put a spark plug in the head the turn it upside down. Then pour a small amount of petrol (gasoline in the US) into the combustion hemisphere. If either valve stem is bent, it will not make on effective seal with the cylinder head. The fuel will leak away. Simple.

If you've already assembled the bike, this may be the cause of non starting or low power output.
